Anise Star

ANISE STAR: Also called Chinese Star Anise, is a spice that closely resembles Anise (licorice) in flavor, obtained from the star shape of a small native evergreen tree of China. The star shaped fruits are harvested just before ripening. It is widely used in Chinese cuisine, but you may also find it in South Asia and Indonesia. It is the main ingredient used to make the broth for Vietnamese Noodle Soup.
