Pepper Lampong

PEPPER, LAMPONG: Lampong Pepper is hard to find but worth the search. These peppercorns come from the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Lampong peppercorns are hotter than Malabar and have an earthy and smoky aroma.

INTERESTING FACT: Pepper was the spice that Europe's explorers were seeking when they accidentally found the New World on their "shortcut" to Asia. Pepper still accounts for a quarter of the world's spice trade.
